Mailing format icon

Mail should be addressed to the student's full name and their hall address. A student's full name is the name that is on file for the university (not a nickname).

The student's name on a piece of mail is the most important piece of information. Be careful when purchasing items online for your student - make sure that the student's name appears in the "ship to" address. Mail that cannot be identified or delivered to the student due to an incomplete address or a different name than we have on file will be forwarded or returned to sender.

Mail and packages are received and distributed at your Front Desk. Mail is placed in your mailbox. Packages are logged, placed in a secure area behind the Front Desk, and an email is sent to your mnsu.edu account to notify you of your package. You must have your MavCARD with you to receive your package.

Mail is distributed to mailboxes 4-8pm Monday through Saturday at each Front Desk.

Package delivery notifications are emailed to the student's MNSU.edu email address. Pick up packages at the Front Desk with photo ID.

Residents of Stadium Heights

When a package arrives, a pink package slip will be posted on the student's apartment door.  Take the slip to the Stadium Heights Office to collect the package (with photo ID).

If you received a delivery notification from a retailer or courier that your package has been delivered, it does not mean that the package is at your Front Desk. Oftentimes packages are delivered to Wiecking Center (in receiving) before they are brought to Residential Life. When you receive an email from your Front Desk about your package, it means that it's ready for pick up.

Mail may take an additional day or two to arrive in a student's mailbox (after it has been brought to campus). If you believe your mail is missing, click below for information on who to contact.

If you believe mail is missing, start by checking with your Front Desk. If they are unable to track down the missing mail, contact the Residential Life Office and we can work with Postal Services to see the piece is.

Mail Forwarding On Campus

Mail received for a former resident is forwarded to the resident's permanent address, as listed with the University. View/update your permanent address on E-services.

  • Periodicals are forwarded for 60 days.
  • Priority and first-class mail is forwarded for 365 days.

Mail Forwarding at Stadium Heights

At Stadium Heights, mail is handled by the USPS. Mail for Stadium Heights residents is not retained or forwarded by Residential Life. To forward your mail, complete an online forwarding request.
