The Counseling Center offers a variety of 3-, or 6-session workshops that cover a variety of topics relevant to college student wellbeing and academic success. You may be recommended for workshop(s) during your Screening Appointment.
Wellness Workshops
These workshops will provide you with new insights and coping skills in a supportive and casual classroom-like setting. Let your screening counselor know if you are interested in one of these wellness workshops.
Anxiety Toolbox: This 3-session workshop is specifically designed to help students who struggle with a variety of anxiety-related concerns (e.g., panic attacks, Generalized Anxiety, test anxiety). The goal is to provide psychoeducation on anxiety and teach effective coping strategies for managing anxiety symptoms.
Getting Unstuck: This 3-session workshop is specifically designed to help students who struggle with a variety of depression-related concerns. The goal is to provide psychoeducation on depression and to teach effective coping strategies for managing symptoms.
Feel Better Fast: This 3-session workshop focuses on building skills to help students manage stress more effectively. Students will learn more about stress and stress management techniques including time management skills, mindfulness exercises, emotional awareness skills, and wellness strategies.
Managing Emotions: This 6-session workshop utilizes skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to foster improved understanding and expression of emotions. The workshop uses instruction and experiential exercises from mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.
