Student Organizations 

• Women Empowerment (WE)
  • Our mission as a Student Organization is to Educate, Inform, and Empower all students. WE supports students and community growth on campus. WE maintains a close partnership with the Women’s Center to promote leadership development and programing. Gender equity is central to our mission and purpose on campus. Connect on MavCentral. 
• We RISE Leadership Program
  • This 4-part empowerment series engages students in self-reflection, connecting with others and building community, and preparing for a future of change. Register on MavCentral. 
• Maverick Food Garden
  • Help us grow! The Maverick Food Garden provides fresh produce to the Maverick Food Pantry. Students plan, plant, weed, water, and harvest. Connect on MavCentral. 

Possible internship opportunities

• Social media coordinator – maintains social media for the Women’s Center, designs and hosts an event to support women.
• Pregnant and parenting student liaison – communicates regularly with students who have dependent children. Hosts two gatherings for student parents per semester.
• Outreach and education coordinator – regularly tables across campus to keep the campus community informed of events. Designs and implements educational activities to raise awareness around women’s issues.

• The Center space is open for homework, a lunchtime retreat, and hanging out with great people!
