Off Campus Work-Study for Non-Profits
Looking for a way to stretch your budget? Hosting Mavericks as an off-campus Work-Study location could be exactly what you are looking for!
Reasons to become an Off-Campus Work-Study Host Organization:
- Help your budget go further by decreasing the amount you are paying for staff
- Connect with students that could potentially work for you full time after graduation
- Assist student’s in gaining valuable career readiness skills
How it Works:
Being an off-campus Work-Study host organization allows you to hire staff with less money from your budget! MSU Mankato’s Work-Study dollars would fund 75% of the position and the other 25% would be paid by the host location for the duration of the student’s Work-Study award. For example, if you are paying a Work-Study student $15, Work-Study funds would cover 75% of that- $11.25- and your organization would pay only $3.75 of the hourly pay rate.
Work Study students must be paid equitably in comparison to similar positions your organization has. The on-campus student employment pay rate is currently $12.50, but if your organization is paying a similar position $15 per hour, you will need to pay the Work-Study student employee that same rate.
