Housing and Dining Accommodations
Minnesota State University, Mankato students with disabilities may request housing accommodations by contacting Accessibility Resources.
Housing Accommodations
Students requesting housing accommodations must first complete the application process for on-campus housing. More information can be found at the following links by selecting the category that best fits you:
First-Year Students Transfer Students
Current Students International Students
Once you have completed the housing application and submitted the $250 prepayment, then you should apply for housing accommodations. You can do so by either:
- Logging into MavAccess with your StarID and completing the New Student Application. We will then contact you to schedule a meeting with our staff; or,
- Scheduling an intake meeting with staff in Accessibility Resources by calling 507-389-2825, emailing ar@mnsu.edu, or stopping by Accessibility Resources in Memorial Library 132.
Please note: You may be asked to provide documentation of your disability to help determine eligibility for accommodations. If you already have documentation, you can upload it to MavAccess, email it to us at ar@mnsu.edu, have your provider fax it to us at 507-389-1199, or bring it with you to your scheduled meeting. If you don’t have documentation, and if it is needed, we will help you at the initial meeting.
Please note the following:
- For priority consideration, requests for accommodations based on medical/disability needs must be received by:
- For Fall semester: March 1st
- For Spring semester: November 1st
- For Summer session: March 1st
- Being approved for housing accommodation does not guarantee that you will be placed in your first choice of residential hall, as placement will be based on need and availability.
- The process of assigning a student's specific room or roommate(s) is managed by Residential Life. Accessibility Resources' role is to make determinations based on functional limitations in the housing environment and is not involved in the placement process.
- Accommodations for Emotional Support Animals may require additional documentation to be completed and approved before an animal can be brought to campus. Learn more here: Emotional Support Animals.
- Accessibility Resources can only make housing accommodation determinations for on-campus housing (including Stadium Heights). Off-campus housing accommodations must be sought through the owner or landlord of the property.
Dining Accommodations
Before seeking accommodations for dining-related concerns, contact our Campus Dietitian, Hailey Holland.
