Group Exercise Classes

SPRING 2025 SCHEDULE BEGINS MONDAY, JAN. 13

  • Group exercise classes are in Pennington Hall (PH) 102.
  • *Cycling classes are in the Otto Rec Center.
  • No registration required to join classes, just show up.
  • Bring clean shoes and your Mav Card to access the Otto Rec Center.
  • All classes are free for current students and those with an Otto Rec membership.

**PLEASE NOTE: Yoga Sculpt begins on Wednesday, january 22. No classes on Monday, January 20 due to MLK Day.

Class descriptions

All Levels Yoga is a practice for all students. No experience necessary. Variations of poses will be provided to work at a pace and comfort that represents where your mind and body are at on this day. This class may include breath work, flowing and static poses, guided relaxation, and meditation. 45 min.

Boot Camp is an interval training workout mixing calisthenics and bodyweight exercises with cardio and strength training. 45 min.

Cycle 30 is an indoor workout on the STAGES bikes focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, and high-intensity work. 30 min. 

Glute Camp is an interval workout focusing on glutes, lower body movements, and core conditioning. This workout will lift and shape your booty, build strength and definition in your thighs, and strengthen your core. 45 min.

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is typically a cardio based workout with high intensity bursts and low to moderate intensity recovery segments. For example, you may have a ratio of 2:1, i.e., 20 seconds of jump squats and ten seconds of jogging in place. Class may include interval of strength training and tabata formats. 45 min.

Sculpt Yoga is a full body workout incorporating yoga poses using light dumbbells and minimal equipment. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced this class is sure to challenge you and get your muscles burning. 45 min.

Total Body Conditioning is a resistance training class that will challenge your muscular strength and endurance by using your body weight, dumbbells, body bars, bands, and additional equipment during your workout. 45 min.

***Trauma-Informed Yoga is a time for you to experience a safe and supportive yoga class designed to nurture both the body and mind. Trauma-Informed Yoga emphasizes mindfulness, choice, and self-compassion, providing a space where you can reconnect with yourself at your own pace. This class focuses on gentle, grounding movements and breathwork, avoiding triggers and promoting a sense of safety and empowerment. Participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies, honoring their comfort levels throughout the practice. Whether you're healing from past experiences or simply seeking a restorative practice, this class is open to all and offers a pathway to resilience, calm, and inner strength. 

  • What to bring: A yoga mat (if you have one, or we can provide one), comfortable clothing, and an open mind.
  • Who is this for: Anyone looking for a gentle and inclusive yoga practice, no prior yoga experience needed.

If you cannot make it to a class or want to workout on your own, listed below are great options to get you moving.

  • Stop into the Otto Rec Center to use the bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, weight room equipment, and basketball courts.
  • Climb on the indoor rock wall, run/walk on the track, or play on the courts in the Myers Field House.
  • Play racquetball, table tennis, or handball on the courts in Pennington Hall. Equipment checkout is available in the Otto Rec Center.
  • Head outside and tackle Stadium Hill or hit the Fitness Trail, play tennis or pickleball on the courts, and climb on the outdoor pinnacle.
