Stepped Care Model
The Counseling Center uses a Stepped Care Model—a tiered approach that meets students where they are, promoting autonomy by starting with the least intensive support and increasing care as needed.
Additional Information: Practicum and Internship Opportunities
The Counseling Center offers practicum and internship experiences for graduate students in counseling, psychology, and social work. Each year, a diverse cohort of 6–8 trainees joins our multidisciplinary team for hands-on training that runs with the academic calendar.
The Center for Rural Behavioral Health creates hands-on training and research opportunities for students and faculty focused on improving mental health care in rural Minnesota. Through collaborative projects, career exploration, and continuing education, the Center helps build a stronger, more informed behavioral health workforce.
