Dr. Sudarshana 's First Book Published

a person holding a blue bookA professor of Geography, Dr. Sudarshana Bordoloi published her first book, The Political Economy of Uneven Rural Development: Case of the Nonfarm Sector in Kerala, India, Palgrave Macmillan, Singapore, 2020. It is based on her doctorate dissertation and shows how class relations develop. It introduces four inter-related concepts regarding a consequence of capitalist development of the rural nonagricultural/nonfarm sector; social relations of production, productive forces, role of the state and concrete development outcomes of capitalist production in RNFS in the context of class, and non-class relations of oppressions. Prior to joining Minnesota State University, Mankato, Dr. Bordoloi was employed as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at St Cloud State University, Minnesota from 2014 to 2018. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Geography from York University, in Toronto, Canada.
