Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages K-12 ESL Licensure Preparation, Minor

The TESOL minor prepares undergraduate students to teach English Learners in K-12 schools. Students pursuing this licensure must also be admitted into professional education. For admission requirements and required courses, see the Teaching Programs section of the catalog. To be licensed in Minnesota, students must meet a language requirement, such as one year of college-level or two years of high school foreign language study, or an equivalent experience. This track equips students to teach K-12 ESL effectively.
