Students at MSU may be eligible for several need-based grant options that are designed to help ease the cost of college. Grants can make a big difference in covering tuition, fees and other expenses. Unlike loans, grants don’t need to be repaid, making them an excellent way to cover college costs.
Types of Grants
A federal grant to help cover college costs, awarded based on financial need.
The Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is for students with significant financial need and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
The federal Teacher Education assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH) is available to students planning to teach in high-need subject areas.
This grant supports students whose parent or guardian died as a result of U.S. military service after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
A state-funded grant available to Minnesota residents attending in-state institutions.
