Returning Student Financial Aid Checklist

Returning to MSU? Use our financial aid checklist to stay organized and make sure you meet all requirements and deadlines.

Apply for Aid

  1. Renew FAFSA

    File your FAFSA each year to keep receiving aid. Use code 002360 to send your information to MSU.

  2. Review Status

    Aid packages can vary, so review the status and check for any additional documents needed in the Financial Aid Portal.

  3. Accept or Decline Aid

    Decide which aid you need to accept or decline. Confirm your financial aid award information in E-Services.

  4. Complete Paperwork

    Submit necessary forms for loans, grants or work study.

  5. Maintain Enrollment & Make Adequate Progress Standards

    Stay enrolled and continue to meet academic standards to continue receiving aid.
