Participation in Groups requires current membership in Mankato Area Lifelong Learners.

Afternoon Sip & Chat

Join us for your beverage of choice (and perhaps a sweet treat) and enjoy the company of Lifelong Learner friends, long-time and new. We gather at small cafés for good conversation and laughter. Weather permitting, we’ll sit outdoors when available.

Book Clubs

The Bookends

The Bookends, meets in various locations on the fourth Wednesday of each month. The group will be limited to about 15 members.

History & Science Book Club

The Lifelong Learners History & Science Book Club meets quarterly on the second Thursday of the month in March, June, September, and December from 2 - 4pm. New members are welcome.

• Thursday, December 1, 2pm - "Angels and Ages: Lincoln, Darwin, and the Birth of the Modern" Age by Adam Gopnik

To participate in a History & Science Book Club book meeting you must (1) be a member of Mankato Area Lifelong Learners, (2) join the club with a commitment to be a regular attendee and (3) purchase and read the books.

 

Bridge Groups

Our Social Bridge group currently has two ladies groups meeting the third Monday of each month at the Wow Zone restaurant. There is room for additional tables and we are always looking for subs as well.

Coffee & Current Events

Participate in a monthly discussion group of members who come together for informal conversations about current affairs. Steve Gilbert and Georgia Holmes host the discussions and hope they are a welcoming place where everyone helps one another try to make sense of the headlines and newscasts.

We meet by Zoom on the fourth Friday of each month from 10 to 11:30am. There is no fee or required preparation and no commitment to attend every month. To sign-up and receive the Zoom link for the next meeting, simply send an email to coffeeandcurrentevents@gmail.com.

Lunch and dinner dining groups are meeting once again. Please contact the office to participate.

First Friday Movie & Conversation

Lifelong Learners will be hosting a monthly movie and conversation event on First Friday afternoons at Pathstone Latitude, 115 Rogers St, Mankato. These on-going events will be free for Lifelong Learners members. Please contact the office for more information.
