Spring Pledge Drive Smashes Previous Record
Radio Heroes push KMSU past all stretch goals
WOW! Thank you to all the Radio Heroes that made the KMSU Spring Pledge Drive a record breaker! On Wednesday, April 27th, KMSU hit its first goal, and by six p.m. on Friday, April 29th, the grand total was a chart topping $52,069! We'll be thanking you SO MUCH for a very long time, because you make everything we do possible. Processing pledges and ordering thank you swag will begin soon, so please give us a little time to get it together and ship it. It'll be worth the wait. You are all, without question, the absolute best.
The next stages for KMSU are very exciting. First up will be building the KMSU app. This will allow Radio Heroes to take 89.7 the Maverick everywhere they go, via their phones, tablets, or wherever they use their apps. We'll stream our broadcast, get you information and news, and so much more, and it'll be instantly available. The app will also stream the brand new Minnesota music channel that we'll be creating. This will be nothing but music and information from the incredible creative community that our state has, and we'll be able to better celebrate this diverse community we serve.
Beyond that, we're going to expand our broadcast signal to carry HD (hybrid digital) channels, meaning that we'll be offering the main KMSU broadcast signal and the Minnesota music channel over the airwaves in HD, making it available to cars and radios that can receive HD radio signals. HD allows KMSU to be carried on the hybrid digital signal, and this will allow radios to switch to the analog signal if the HD signal is disrupted. This is an exciting upgrade for us, and we hope you'll be taking advantage of it when it's here.
