Pageant & Singalong Nation Returns
Community Performance Group presents "midlife recital" on september 4th
The Pageant & Singalong Nation returns with Midlife Recital on Sunday, September 4th at the Minnesota Square Park Pavilion in Saint Peter, MN. This is a free performance, and YOU CAN TAKE PART!
Pageant & Singalong Nation was formed in 2016 to realize a lifelong dream of group founder Ann Rosenquist Fee, who had always wanted to put together an amateur community production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Over several months of rehearsals, a group of like-minded JCS fanatics built a truly unique grassroots musical experience that was performed in 2017, with an encore presentation in 2018. In 2019, the group concocted a one-of-a-kind hybrid of The Rocky Horror Show and the legendary Meatloaf album Bat Out of Hell. All three shows were performed at Patrick's on 3rd in Saint Peter to standing room only capacity crowds, which made anticipation high for whatever the group came up with for their next performance. The world, however, had other plans.
The global COVID pandemic put a halt to most things in the world, and community theater performances were no exception. Pageant & Singalong Nation, out of concern for their safety and others, put any performance plans on hiatus until an opportunity arose to get people together in a way that would not put the health of others in jeopardy. The members of the group, like many of us, turned to music to help them deal with the stress of living in such unusual times. It seemed only natural that this music would become the inspiration for the next thing they had on tap for the community, and on Sunday, September 4th, you will get to see Midlife Recital, the latest daydream-made-real from Pageant & Singalong Nation.
Planning and rehearsals are just beginning, and Pageant & Singalong Nation has a place for you! The group has the core songs and vocalists lined up, but they can use backing choir members, set people, costumers, etc. to make this dream a reality! Visit Pageant & Singalong Nation on Facebook for all the latest on performance preparation, and feel free to ask the group questions. No experience necessary!
