The Spring Pledge Drive Smashed All Records!
KMSU Radio Heroes made this the biggest pledge drive in KMSU history!
HOLY MACKEREL! The KMSU 2021 Spring Pledge Drive was a MASSIVE success, and it's all because of listeners like you! By 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7th, KMSU listeners donated a record breaking $50,000, meeting every matching grant and then some. This drive was the biggest in recent KMSU history, and we're so grateful for your support. KMSU and its listeners: Together we make great radio!
On day one of the drive we had listeners pledging as soon as it started, and by Tuesday, May 4th (May the 4th be with you!) we had hit our base goal during We Want The Airwaves. The momentum never let up, and by the time the Shuffle Function 24 Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go began on the 6th we were already on track to tie the largest goal we'd had to date. All the while you never stopped believing in our mission, and you ultimately set a new bar for pledge drive success. Thank you for all that you do, not just for KMSU, but also for the community!
Please give us a little time to get your thank you swag out, as it usually takes a while to get the donor information back from the University. Rest assured, we'll be getting it to you as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing the latest KMSU shirt in the wild!
In case you missed it, here is the archive from the Shuffle Function 24 Pledge Drive A-Go-Go. It's broken up into four six hour segments, and includes two rounds of Radio Roulette, Jandek: Sounds of Insomnia, Sunrise With Sun Ra, a whole lot of vinyl, live performances by Bee Balm Fields and Joe Tougas & Associates, and, of course, the massive moment when KMSU listeners helped us hit that record setting goal. It's only archived for two weeks, so take advantage while you can!
You'll also find video footage of Bee Balm Fields and Joe Tougas & Associates live in the KMSU studios during the marathon. Please note that the clips only include audio from the bands, and not the DJ side of things. We're hoping in the weeks to come that we'll get an updated version of the audio, so please bear with us. We also have sped up video of area artists Amber Rahe and Kat Baumann creating art for pledges on the final day of the marathon. They do amazing work, and it's fun to see them at work on masterpieces created for listeners!
Thank you once again for your support, Radio Heroes!
