About Michelle

I was born and raised in the same small town I live in now. I grew up in a family with less than modest means. My parents stressed the importance of a college education early on so I pursed my education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I received a scholarship from a local chapter at my high school to start my college career and from my employer as I was completing my college journey. It was shortly after I graduated that I realized why my parents stressed the college degree – the opportunities were so much better. I started my career at a non-profit that was the parent organization to the chapter in which I received my first scholarship as a way to give back. I loved working in the nonprofit sector, but knew ultimately I wanted to pursue a career at Minnesota State University, Mankato to give back to the University that provide me so much. However, I decided to first return to the company that provided me my second scholarship to again give back for helping me succeed in college. In January 2019, my career dream of working for Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am fortunate to work with an amazing team who are all very passionate about student success and donor relations.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is work with my head and not my hands.

Advice I would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars, love what you do and know your team always has your back.

My favorite word in the English language is infinity because my kids and I would say I love you infinity for eternity before bed each night.
