CETL provides a variety of faculty development programs to help you design your courses, improve student engagement, create better student learning outcomes, and enhance your teaching career.

Long Professional Development Courses are courses that meet monthly throughout the academic year.

New Faculty Onboarding Academy

Facilitated by Dr. Brooke Burk

 

Over the course of the academic year, new faculty will attend seven one-hour workshops to engage in professional development that enhances their teaching and learning practices and advance racial equity and social justice in teaching and learning spaces.

Dates: 3rd Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00 pm and 3rd Wednesdays from 2:00-3:00 pm. Participants only need to attend one sessions per month.

Second Year Faculty Cohort

Facilitated by Dr. Sudarshana Bordoloi

 

Support for fixed term and probationary faculty in their second year at the University. The group will meet monthly to discuss the increasing responsibilities of academic advising, scholarship, and research and reflect upon challenges and lessons learned during their first year at the University.

Dates: 3rd Monday of each month except for January, which will be on January 22nd

Third-Fifth Year Faculty Cohort

Facilitated by Dr. Corey Selland and Dr. Fatih Bektas


This year-long cohort offers continuous professional development support for fixed-term and probationary faculty in their third through fifth year at the university. The group will meet monthly throughout the academic year to discuss the growing responsibilities of academic advising, research and scholarly activity, and service, as well as the challenges faculty face during this stage of their careers while working toward tenure and promotion.

Dates: 2nd Wednesdays (Sept 11, Oct 9, and Nov 13) at 2:00 pm
