Am I an undergraduate first-year student?
First-year students have not attempted or completed any college-level credits after high school graduation. Even if you earned college credits in high school, you’re a First-Year student.
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
You will be automatically admitted with any one of the following:
- A cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher or
- A rank in the top 50% of your high school class or
- An ACT composite score of 21 or higher and a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.7 (see test-optional information below)
If students DO submit test scores, they will be used in the admission process.
Applicants who are graduates of accredited high schools (or who hold a GED certificate) with no prior college work will be considered for admission to Minnesota State University, Mankato, based on high school courses (including Minnesota State University Preparation Standards), grades, class rank, and college entrance examinations (ACT optional).
If you are an applicant with any military training (completion of basic training and after), you will apply as a Transfer Student.
