What Makes You a Transfer Student?
If you’ve earned college credits after high school, you’re considered a transfer student at Minnesota State University, Mankato.*
Admission Requirements
If You Have 24 or More Credits:
*This doesn’t include credits from Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO), College in the Schools or similar programs.
- Submit official transcripts from every college you've attended (except Minnesota State schools, we will have access to those after you apply for admission).
- To be automatically admitted, you’ll need a:
- 2.0 cumulative GPA
- 67% course completion rate
If You Have Fewer than 24 Credits:
- Submit official college transcripts and your high school transcript (grades 9-12).
- Get automatically admitted if you meet these criteria:
- 2.0 cumulative college GPA
- 67% course completion rate
- Plus, one of the following:
- 3.0 cumulative high school GPA
- High school class rank in the top 50%
- ACT score of 21 with at least a 2.7 cumulative high school GPA
If You’ve Completed an Associate Degree:
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended.
- If your associate degree is from a regionally accredited school and your recent grades are positive, you’ll be admitted.
