Transfer Credit Appeals

HOW ARE MY TRANSFER CREDITS EVALUATED?

After being admitted to the University, the Registration and Academic Records staff will evaluate your transfer credits. You will receive an email when your evaluation is complete. The message will include directions and links to assist you in reviewing your degree audit.

If you have questions about your initial credit evaluation, you can connect with the office via OneStop.

WHY ARE MY MAJOR OR MINOR CLASSES SHOWING AS ELECTIVES?

Credit evaluation is a multi-step process. After the initial evaluation, you might see courses for your major or minor that appear to be electives. You will be connected with academic advising when you attend orientation. At that point, departments will evaluate your major or minor credits and determine where they fit at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The department will submit paperwork on your behalf and you will receive an email when that process is complete.

I would like my transfer credits reviewed again. WHAT CAN I DO?

First, please meet with your academic advisor for assistance in reviewing and understanding your degree audit report. After you've done this, you can request another review.

i do not agree with my transfer credit evaluation. what are my options?

Students have a right to appeal their transfer credit decisions. Start by reviewing your degree audit, then log into eServices, select Academic Records, and then Transfer Review. Follow the directions on the page to complete the process.
There is a separate process to appeal general education course requirements. You are responsible for initiating the process and submitting all required materials.
