Why I want to be a Maverick Firsts Advocate

I wish I would have known more about navigating my first-generation status throughout all of my degrees, I was more ashamed of it than using it as a differentiation point. I was also a student-athlete who ran cross-country and track at my school so it was a lot of changes to navigate at once in college. I hope to help those along that come after me, because what good is that learned knowledge if you don't pass it along. Remember you're not alone, and there's more support now than there used to be.

I have two crazy goldendoodles that keep me busy. I like to run quite a bit so you'll find me out on the roads and the trails depending on the next event.
