Other Graduation Requirements
Experiential Learning/Study Abroad. A minimum of 3 credits to a maximum of 12 credits. These credits must be approved in advance by the student's International Relations major advisor. These experiential learning/study abroad credits may include foreign language credits and may count toward the student’s Major Restricted Electives (which includes the Advanced International Relations and Comparative Politics Electives and the Interdisciplinary Electives), but can not be counted toward the Major Common Core credits. Foreign language credits in general are not counted as part of the 48 required credits for the major. Students are encouraged to pursue study abroad in the summer, or a regular semester overseas, at a four-year accredited university abroad. Another option is to complete an approved internship within the United States that involves activities or work related to global issues and international affairs.
