Minnesota State Mankato to Hold 23rd Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium April 15
Event to feature more than 90 presentations
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato is holding its 23rd annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday, April 15, with the public invited to listen to keynotes and select live oral presentations from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A complete schedule of events is available online.
Presenter materials will be available online to the public on Wednesday, April 14 at https://symposium.foragerone.com/2021-mnsu-undergraduate-research-symposium.
The symposium will feature approximately 92 presentations, including five creative exhibitions, 24 undergraduate oral presentations, 52 undergraduate poster presentations, eight graduate student oral presentations and three graduate student poster presentations. More than 20 of the presentations were funded by research grants from the Minnesota State University, Mankato Foundation.

Minnesota State Mankato’s annual Undergraduate Research Symposium acquaints undergraduates with the process and rigors of presenting research in a scholarly manner in an academic setting.
Although Minnesota State Mankato established its Undergraduate Research Center in 2009, the Undergraduate Research Symposium is much older, with the first symposium organized by a group of volunteers in 1998. In January 2015, the Council on Undergraduate Research, an organization that promotes high-quality faculty-undergraduate collaborative research and scholarly work, recognized Minnesota State Mankato as a national leader in undergraduate research.
The Undergraduate Research Symposium is one in a month-long series of research-related events held during April, which has been designated as Minnesota State Mankato’s first-ever Research Month.
During April, the public is invited to access many events virtually for free either live or on-demand through an online calendar, and explore a Research Month Web page with links to research, creative and scholarly activities, resources, tools and support the University provides for those conducting research.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,604 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
