7 Maverick Machine Athletic Band Members to Perform Virtually at National Championship Football Game
Mankato, Minn. – Seven members from Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Maverick Machine Athletic Bands have been selected to participate in a virtual performance that will be broadcast during the College Football Playoff National Championship game in Miami, Florida, on Monday, Jan. 11.
Michael Thursby, director of the Maverick Machine Athletic Bands, said the Minnesota State Mankato students will join nearly 1,000 band members from schools across the country during the halftime performance.
According to a halftime.com Web post by the College Band Directors National Association Intercollegiate Marching Band, band members from almost 200 bands in 45 states and Puerto Rico will perform in the show.
The intercollegiate marching band will perform “End of Time” by Beyonce in a video that will premier on the Intercollegiate Marching Band YouTube channel during halftime of the game, according to the Web post.

The Maverick Machine Athletic Bands are part of Minnesota State Mankato’s Department of Music and Entertainment Industries, which is part of the University’s College of Arts and Humanities.
Minnesota State Mankato, a comprehensive university with 14,604 students, is part of the Minnesota State system, which includes 30 colleges and seven universities.
