University Employees Contribute to Area Food Shelves
Faculty Association Donates $5,000 to Each of Two Organizations
Mankato, Minn. – Minnesota State University, Mankato’s employee bargaining units are organizing a variety of efforts to address food insecurity on campus and in the Mankato-area community.
Last week, the Minnesota State University Faculty Association (which is part of the statewide Inter Faculty Organization) presented $5,000 checks to both the ECHO Food Shelf in Mankato and the Maverick Food Pantry on the Minnesota State Mankato campus.
In addition, seven employee bargaining units on campus are holding a “Unions United Fund Drive” that runs through Dec. 11 to benefit the ECHO Food Shelf in Mankato. Because of the pandemic, the fund drive encourages Minnesota State Mankato employees to make financial donations to ECHO Food shelf this year instead of food donations.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the fund drive may makes checks payable to “ECHO Food Shelf” and mail donations to:

The Unions United Fund Drive is sponsored by: AFSCME Local 638; Minnesota State University Association of Administrative & Service Faculty (MSUAASF); Minnesota State University Faculty Association (MNSUFA); Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE); Minnesota Government Engineers Council (MGEC); Middle Management Association (MMA); and Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA).
